INSTRUMENTAL WORKS

Shaw is not widely known for his instrumental works, however, his log-book records that early on in his career he wrote mainly instrumental pieces –valses, scherzos, waltzes, humouresques etc. which remained unpublished. Perhaps this spurred on his sense of injustice at the poor regard publishers had for English composers at the time.

The intrumental pieces which were published are listed below. Any surviving manuscripts are available to researchers at the British Library. Contact via email at : music-collections@bl.uk
