Recording Artists: Iain Burnside & Andrew Kennedy
Eva Gore-Booth was an Irish poet and dramatist, and a committed suffragist. Both she and her sister Constance reacted to their privileged background and committed themselves to social reform.
At the end of her life Gore-Booth was a neighbour of the Shaws, living in Hampstead.
Shaw’s dedication is To Mischa-Léon (1889 - 1928), pictured right, the Danish tenor who had settled in London.
Mischa was married to the Canadian soprano Pauline Donalda.
